Does culture amount to no more than distinct foods, dress, music, and sports? While these outward flavors may be good and exciting, you have a shallow and dying culture if you lack the one thing needful. At the heart of culture is worship, what you treasure above all things. For a culture to be good, this treasure must be living. The gospel is that living treasure. God cultivates this treasure in our hearts through his Word, exposing the death of our sinful flesh while granting us life in Christ with all the saints through his Word.
